This was a historic renovation that utilized tax credits to assist in the renovation. The project included all new plumbing, electrical and heating, and air systems, along with insulation upgrades. The siding and exterior trim were repaired or replaced, and the front porch was returned to its original design. The primary bedroom included an extension to house new bathroom space. Wood flooring was refinished, and new tile was installed in the bathroom and kitchen areas.
The foundation in the rear of the building was stabilized as well as new support piers were added. The original metal roof was preserved and recoated, while the non-historic shingle/membrane roof was replaced with metal. The landscaping was also included in the scope, where low-maintenance gravel pathways were installed with a synthetic lawn. We received a preservation award from Georgia.
